TAMKO® is expanding its Envision® line of capped decking boards by introducing a line of solid color boards– “Envision Expression®” –and renaming the current Envision® bold, variegated board “Envision Distinction®™.”
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – October 6, 2016 – TAMKO® is expanding its Envision® line of capped decking boards by introducing a line of solid color boards– “Envision Expression®” –and renaming the current Envision® bold, variegated board “Envision Distinction®.” Envision Expression® complements the Envision Distinction® multi-colored board by offering four solid colors including three hues of brown and gray. Envision Expression® is being shown for the first time in public at the 2016 Remodeling|DeckExpo|JLC Live Show in Baltimore.
TAMKO® reached out to more than 300 of its key customers including distributors, dealers and contractors to listen to their input on color preference and selection for the new board. The four chosen colors are the results of that customer feedback. Envision Expression® offers the unique compressed beauty of the Envision® line in a single-color board.
“Consistent with TAMKO®’s refocused emphasis on our composite lumber business, we listened to the voice of the customer,” said TAMKO® Senior Director of Decking, Brian Lowry. “The new product offering we’re announcing today is part of our strong push to meet the needs of our composite lumber customers.”
Envision Expression® will be available for orders beginning in November and shipping January 2, 2017.
TAMKO® Building Products, Inc. has launched a new logo for its Envision® composite decking line, creating a new visual identity for the brand as it approaches its five year anniversary. The logo for TAMKO®’s classic composite decking product, EverGrain®, also received an update. Both new logos will be on display during the 2016 Remodeling|DeckExpo|JLC Live Show (R|D|J) next week in Baltimore along with the introduction of a new decking product for the Envision® line.
The updated Envision® logo, with its blue accents and stylized “E” fashioned from four composite decking boards, represents a more modern look for the Envision® brand portfolio, while paying homage to the heritage of TAMKO®’s composite decking line introduced nearly 20 years ago. As the look and application of composite decking continues to evolve, so does Envision®.
Senior Director of Decking for TAMKO®, Brian Lowry, said “Our objective is to achieve strong growth for TAMKO®’s composite decking, so it made sense to update to a new Envision® logo which clearly brands our family of capped composite decking products. As we add new capped products, they will fall under one family name: Envision®.”
There are more exciting announcements to come, as TAMKO® moves to expand its line of composite decking, including the release of a new product for the Envision® line to be introduced next week during R|D|J.
“The recent managerial alignment of TAMKO®’s composite decking operation, adding my position as Senior Director Decking and Matt Shaner as General Sales Manager Decking, coupled with the new product addition and updated logos, showcases the direction we are headed,” Lowry stated, adding, “We know our customers are as excited as we are about the future of composite decking at TAMKO®.” #EnvisiontheFuture
TAMKO®’s Executive VP Tim Whelan will now lead all aspects of the composite decking operation assisted by the newly promoted Senior Director Decking Brian Lowry and General Sales Manager Decking Matt Shaner.
TAMKO® Building Products Inc. has aligned management of its composite decking operation and created new positions to drive growth for its decking business. TAMKO®’s Executive Vice President Tim Whelan will now lead all aspects of the composite decking operation. He will be assisted by the newly promoted Senior Director Decking Brian Lowry and General Sales Manager Decking Matt Shaner.
According to Whelan, “We recognized that our intense focus on the growth of TAMKO®’s core roofing business over the past several years diverted attention and resources from the decking operation. These organizational changes were made to return the entrepreneurial spirit, passion and innovation that drove the early explosive growth of EverGrain® decking.”
Senior Director Decking
Brian Lowry, who was promoted to senior director decking, will be responsible for all aspects of TAMKO®’s decking operations, including sales, marketing, manufacturing and R&D. Lowry has been with TAMKO® since 1996. He and Whelan were involved with TAMKO®’s initial entry into the decking market in 2001, including the inaugural launch of EverGrain® decking.
Whelan said, “Brian was instrumental in the code development and compliance for EverGrain® decking, and facilitating the creation of the composite decking industry’s trade organization, the Composite Lumber Manufacturer’s Association (CLMA).” Whelan was the original president of the CLMA in its first year of existence.
TAMKO®‘s President and CEO David Humphreys said, “Brian has been an integral part of the TAMKO® Team for the past two decades. I know that he will bring great leadership and continued and future success to our decking business.”
General Sales Manager Decking
Matt Shaner, who was promoted to general sales manager decking, will be responsible for the day-to-day sales efforts and managing TAMKO®’s dedicated decking sales team. Shaner joined TAMKO® in 2013 as a contractor sales specialist, and has risen quickly through the sales ranks, being promoted to territory manager for Austin and Central Texas and then, to his most recent position, as field sales manager for the southwest district.
TAMKO®’s Vice President Sales and Marketing Stephen McNally said, “Matt has shown outstanding sales and leadership abilities during his time in the roofing business. He is a tenacious sales professional who will bring those qualities and traits to drive growth in the decking business.”
Both Lowry and Shaner will be located at TAMKO®’s corporate office in Joplin, Missouri.
